When I found out that my youngest sister was having another baby I was so excited! Besides the joy of having another amazing person join our ever-growing family, I knew I wanted to throw her a great baby shower.
Since having my own children, it still shocks me how affected I am by little ones - from a commercial on TV, to a news story, to a friend telling me about their own baby. I get teary eyed at the smallest thing, shocks me even now - I was never like this before having kids! I guess its the overflow of love that I feel for my own girls, my sisters' kids, and basically any baby I know. They're just amazing and their mommies deserve a great party to welcome them into the world!
After throwing around super girly shower ideas (surprise, its a girl!), my sister landed on the idea of a Woodland Creatures theme. Not the most feminine theme in the world, but its so her and I ran with it.
Pinterest has a plethora of Woodland shower ideas - check out my board to see where I got my inspiration.

With tons of help from my mom and another sister (couldn't have done it without you two!!), we set up and made food the day before and did all the last minute details the day of. We weren't too frazzled when everyone started coming (my husband would probably tell you otherwise).
Toddler G with a ribbon crown in her hair - she wore it all day, I had to extract it at bath time, amid some tears!
And it was a success! A few games and drinks later (me, not my pregnant sister, ha!) we were telling stories, laughing, and feeling like it was over too soon. So much fun! So who's pregnant next? I want to throw another shower!
Side note, after rearranging the living room to fit additional seating, I'm really liking the new layout! It may just have to stay like this for a while, I feel like the room is so much bigger. I love moving furniture around, you never know how your room may open up!
